DPR’s Toilet Renovation only Waste of Money

The main prerequisite of a good toilet good toilet is not necessary expensive. A toilet which up to standard of health must clean and not smell. But when we got news recently about big projects of DPR to renovate their toilet, what on your minds? Surely, there are many opinion from civil society.

The House of Representatives’ (DPR) secretariat general’s plan to renovate the toilets in the DPR’s Nusantara I building has been criticized. The Indonesian investigation and Advocacy Forum for Budget Transparency (Fitra) coordinator, Uchok Sky Khadafi, said that it was a waste of money. He said the plan would only show that the DPR would be unable to improve their performance this year. “Again, they only focus on image and prestige,” said Uchok yesterday.

The secretariat general has allocated Rp.2 billion for the renovation. According to the maintenance, construction and installation bureau head, Sumirat, toilets on 24 floors will be restored. He also adding that not all toilet is there in DPR building must be renovate, because only broken toilet rooms would be renovate appropriate the level of damage.
DPR deputy speaker Anis Matta called on the public not to fuss about the renovation because the toilets would support the parliament’s performance. “This is a state institution. It’s not for personal interests,” he said yesterday.

We know the work of DPR is channelled of civil aspiration, be not emphasize egoistically. The member of DPR should seeing poorness of civil, suffering them, there is still many civils in labor. There are many children which hunger, their school building was broken, and still many children no school. DPR have to open their eyes, their heart. A lot to do increase prosperity the civil , better than waste a money of civil. Big Project of DPR which useles only would be increase the affliction of civil. Does it make the work DPR would be also good? I don’t think so.
